Face of a young woman getting checked with latex glove for Mini Facelift, Princeton, NJA Mini Facelift (also known as a mini lift or minimal incision facelift) is a facial procedure that improves visible signs of aging and leaves skin looking more refreshed and youthful.

Take a closer look at this procedure by reading the answers to questions most commonly asked by patients.

How is a Mini Facelift different from a traditional Facelift?

A Mini Facelift provides many of the benefits of a traditional facelift. The incision made during a Mini Facelift is about half the size of a traditional facelift incision, which minimizes recovery time. Most patients who undergo a Mini Facelift are able to go home that same day.

Is Mini Facelift for me?

Ideal candidates are healthy adults who show aging in the middle of the face and do not have a severe amount of excess skin around the neck and jaw line. A Mini Facelift is also an excellent option for individuals who have had a traditional facelift in the past and are looking to refresh their appearance in the face and/or neck areas.

Do I need to prepare for a Mini Facelift?

There are a few steps that you are required to take before the procedure in preparation. For at least two weeks before surgery, you are required to refrain from alcohol, all aspirin products, ibuprofen, and certain vitamins and herbal supplements, since these products thin the blood and increase the risk of bleeding. If you’re a smoker, you must stop smoking three months prior to surgery. Lastly, make arrangements for a friend or relative to drive you home after the procedure and help you for a day of two if necessary.

How long is the recovery time for a Mini Facelift?

Patients are usually up and about within a day or two, however you should take it easy for the first week and get plenty of rest. You should avoid all strenuous activity, including heavy housework, lifting, straining, exercising and all aerobic activities for at least two weeks. Patients are required to avoid alcohol, steam baths, and saunas for several months following a Mini Facelift. Dr. Brunner provides each patient with guidelines for resuming normal activities.

Will my face look natural after a Mini Facelift?

Yes. The goal of a Mini Facelift is to refresh and rejuvenate the face and neck for a more youthful appearance. Those close to you may not even realize that you have had a facelift.
