Eugenie Brunner Laser Facial Princeton NJ

Laser Facial in Princeton, NJ

The Laser Facial is a very versatile “no downtime” laser skin treatment designed to even out your skin pigmentation (including brown spots, sun damage and melasma), improve your skin texture, quality and pore size, reduce acne and acne scarring, overall skin rejuvenation, and give your skin a healthy glow.

The Laser Facial Treatment

The Laser Facial usually takes 20-30 minutes. Other areas of the body will take a longer period of time. The first part of the procedure is designed to stimulate new collagen formation, feels warm, and comfortable. The second part has a fast, light snapping sensation that is very well tolerated. This second part of the Laser Facial exfoliates your skin and helps to fade brown pigmentation. There is no downtime and side effects are minimal. You may have some pinkness that may last from 30 minutes to several hours. Moisturizer and make-up can be applied immediately after your treatment if desired. We always recommend daily sunscreen use to prevent brown spot recurrence and to protect your skin from further sun damage. While patients have different conditions, Dr Eugenie Brunner, our experienced facial plastic surgeon in Princeton, NJ, will tailor treatment plans for each patient uniquely to reach the best result.

Dr. Brunner understands that pain and discomfort may deter patients from seeking desired cosmetic treatments. Fortunately, nerve blocking, a procedure that prevents pain signals from reaching the brain, allows patients to experience the transformative benefits of cosmetic procedures without discomfort. With over 25 years of experience in facial plastics and expertise in nerve blocking, Dr. Brunner can perform procedures at a leisurely pace for perfect, natural-looking results. Dr. Brunner’s nerve-blocking technique, along with topical numbing creams and Pro-Nox™, is a game-changer in aesthetics.

Brown Spots, Sun Damage, and Melasma

The Laser Facial will improve brown spots and uneven skin pigmentation from sun damage, aging and melasma. A series of 3 to 5 treatments is usually required for general brown spots from sun damage and aging. Laser Facial treatments are performed every 3-4 weeks. Improvement of melasma is a more gradual “step-wise” process that may require 6-8 sessions. You may see a temporary darkening of the spots, and/or you may experience a gradual fading of the brown spots over a period of several weeks.

Active Acne

The photo-acoustic technology of the Laser Facial controls the inflammation of acne, reduces sebum production of the oil glands, and stimulates skin cell turnover. Reduction in the size of acne is usually seen within several days of your treatment. A series of Laser Facial treatments is usually required every 1 to 3 weeks until the acne is controlled and then maintained at monthly intervals. The Laser Facial can be performed in conjunction with ultrasound infusions, blue light treatments, topical acne therapy and oral antibiotic acne therapy. Dr. Brunner will prescribe a comprehensive treatment plan to suit your particular needs.

Skin Texture, Pore Size, Fine Wrinkles & Acne Scarring

Improvement in skin texture & quality, and an overall healthy glow is usually seen 5 to 7 days after your Laser Facial treatment. Because the Laser Facial stimulates skin cell turnover and new collagen formation, a series of 3 to 5 treatments is required, especially for treatment of fine wrinkles and acne scarring. Maintenance treatments are usually schedules at monthly intervals. The Laser Facial is perfect to time one week before a special event to capture the wonderful glow this treatment stimulates in your facial skin.

All Areas of the Body

Although the treatment is called a Laser Facial, it can be performed on most regions of the body. The neck, chest, back, abdomen, arms and legs can all be treated for brown pigmentation, improvement of skin quality, and acne. Because non-facial skin is thicker, more treatments may be required on the body than on the face.

Enhance and Maintain Results

The Laser Facial is a great way of maintaining your skin quality, texture and glow after Fraxel Laser Resurfacing, MicroLaser® Peel, Medium Chemical Peels, and Varilite Laser treatments. The Laser Facial can further boost your results when performed two to three months after your laser resurfacing treatment. For the ultimate “No Recovery” skin treatment, a Laser Facial can be performed along with a FotoFacial or Varilite Laser in one session.
