cellulaze_logo_new1Cellulaze is the first FDA-approved and clinically proven laser skin treatment that targets cellulite at its source. Aging, hormones, genetics, and weight changes can all play a role in the appearance of cellulite. These factors can often cause fibrous tissue bands under the skin to stiffen and the fat cells they surround to become larger and push up into the skin. This can create the dimpled and bumpy or “cottage-cheese” look that many patients want to eliminate. Exercise and diet typically cannot improve cellulite because they do not target the structure of cellulite below the skin. Many other anti-cellulite treatments focus only on cellulite superficially, applying treatment above the skin only. Dr. Eugenie Brunner, our experienced facial plastic surgeon, can help patients experiencing these concerns by utilizing Cellulaze laser treatment, which is designed to reduce the bulging pockets of fat, release the brittle fibrous bands that dimple the skin, and increase the collagen in the skin to provide a smoother, healthier appearance.

How Does Cellulaze Work?

Cellulaze laser treatments typically last approximately 60-90 minutes and are performed in the office. To help minimize patient discomfort, a local anesthetic or numbing solution is applied prior to the procedure. A narrow cannula (tube) is inserted to deliver the Cellulaze laser fiber below the surface of the skin, where it administers energy to increase skin thickness. The laser fiber then helps to minimize skin dimpling by releasing the fibrous bands beneath the skin and reducing fat pockets that can bulge through the dermis.

How Does Cellulaze Compare to Other Treatments?

While there are a wide variety of treatment options available, only Cellulaze goes beneath the skin to deliver targeted cellulite reduction. Other methods, including massage, topical creams and lotions, and external energy devices, only distribute therapy on the surface of the skin. Furthermore, these approaches require regular upkeep—as often as daily or weekly—and generally provide inconsistent results. Cellulaze not only addresses the source of the issue for long-lasting effects, it also typically requires only one treatment.

What Is the Recovery Period Like After Cellulaze?

Patients should plan to spend two or three days resting their legs after the procedure. In most cases, exercise can be resumed after about two weeks. During this period, a support garment is typically worn to aid recovery.

How Long Will Results Last?

In most cases, patients will see both immediate and gradual improvement, with full benefits visible within three to six months. Cellulaze treatments help to stimulate natural collagen production, altering the structures of the skin for long-lasting effects up to a year or more. Individuals should maintain a healthy diet and exercise program to help extend results.

How do I know if Cellulaze Is Right for Me?

For best results, patients should have moderate cellulite on the thighs and not be significantly overweight. A complimentary consultation can help determine if you are a qualified candidate for this procedure.
